Madrasa Connect (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting the privacy and security of all users, including schools, teachers, parents, students, and drivers.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information across the Madrasa Connect mobile and web platforms.
2. Scope of This Policy
This Policy applies to all users of the Madrasa Connect apps and web dashboard.
By using our platform, you consent to the practices described in this document.
3. Information We Collect
- Information Provided by Schools
- School name, contact details, and authorized admin credentials.
- Uploaded records of teachers, students, and classes.
- Information Provided by Users
- Profile details: name, email, role (student, teacher, parent, driver).
- Academic data: attendance, test results, homework, timetable.
- Communication content (chats, diary notes, announcements).
- Usage logs and device details for technical optimization.
- Location Data (foreground only, while app is in use)
- Show the user’s current position on the map
- Display the assigned student stop marker
- Display the driver’s live location
- Calculate the distance between the student’s assigned stop and the driver’s location
- Streaming vs. Storage: Location data is streamed in real time to provide app functionality and is not stored permanently on our servers. It is used only for live tracking and operational purposes, not for marketing or third-party profiling.
- Automatically Collected Information
- Device identifiers and app usage analytics (via Firebase).
- Crash reports and performance data for reliability improvements.
Note: Madrasa Connect does not collect or store payment, credit card, or other financial information.
Madrasa Connect collects foreground location data from drivers only while they are online and using the driver-tracking screen.
Location data is streamed in real time and not stored permanently
4. User Consent & Prominent Disclosure
Before accessing location, camera, gallery, or microphone, the app will show a Prominent Disclosure, explaining why the permission is needed. Users can choose:
- Allow → permission granted for app functionality
- Do Not Allow → skip that feature, app will continue to function with limited capability
5. Purpose of Data Collection
We collect and process data only to:
- Enable core school management features (attendance, results, communication).
- Ensure account verification and secure login.
- Provide real-time notifications and updates.
- Improve app performance and user experience.
- Generate analytics reports for school administration.
- Allow chat, file sharing, and profile updates (photos, videos, files)
We do not use your data for advertising or marketing.
6. Legal Basis for Processing
We process personal data based on:
- Legitimate educational interest (to operate school systems).
- User consent where required by law.
- Contractual necessity (to deliver app features to schools).
7. Data Storage and Security
- All data is securely stored on Amazon Web Services (AWS) with encryption in transit and at rest.
- Access is restricted to authorized administrators and school officials.
- We employ multi-layered security, including firewalls, encryption, and access logs.
8. Data Sharing
We may share limited information only with:
- The user’s affiliated school or institution.
- Trusted service providers (e.g., Firebase, AWS) under strict data processing agreements.
We do not sell, rent, or disclose user information to third parties for commercial use.
9. Data Retention
User data is retained only for as long as necessary to fulfill the educational purpose or as required by the school.
Upon request from the school, data may be deleted or anonymized permanently.
10. Children’s Privacy
Madrasa Connect complies with:
- COPPA (Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act – USA)
- FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act)
- Gulf PDPL standards for minors
We do not collect personal data directly from children without parental or institutional consent.
11. User Rights
Depending on your region, you may have the right to:
- Request access to your personal data.
- Request correction or deletion of inaccurate information.
- Withdraw consent for specific processing activities.
- Request data portability or restriction of processing.
